HELDEN PARK MODELS IMAGE has just entered the show ring and has already won 6 performances for the Royals and was started in a snaffle.Jean is showing him and already has great affection for him as he just doesn't do anything wrong which is great for me because he is the second progeny of Braefoot Park Rosewood..(the first being Helden Park Style Master owned by Jayne Unterweger who is doing very well in dressage for her as well as shows) under saddle in the show ring and their temperaments have been great."Fred" as he is affectionately known is out of Helden Park Model. I am finding this cross to have worked very well with some lovely foals being born out of our Explorer mares, such as Model,Cat Walk and Chantelle for example.
JEAN & BRENT HULL ARE NOW THE PROUD OWNERS OF........HELDEN PARK MODELS IMAGE...........AND I WISH THEM EVERY SUCCESS WITH HIM......HIS MOTHER HELDEN PARK MODEL WAS VERY SUCCESSFUL AND I HAVE NO DOUBT THAT HE WILL FOLLOW IN MUMS FOOTSTEPS...............with a mention to "Zac" his father Braefoot Park Rosewood.

HELDEN PARK ETCHINGS..owned by Rebecca Healey and shown by the McEvoy Family.

Helden Park Etchings ridden by Kiara McEvoy when she won Champion Rider under 12 yrs.at HOY 2009.............
Other pictures following...........
Billie McEvoy won Runner Up Rider at the EFA Nationals in December 2009
CANBERRA ROYAL 2010
3RD Ridden Show Hunter Pony & 3RD Ridden Riding Pony Stud Book Pony......
Both girls Kiara and Billie won their riding class on ETCHINGS and Billie McEvoy
won Champion Rider in her age group on ETCHINGS.
This pony has been a marvellous pony for all who have ridden him and he has won numerous
events at Royals for all those riders out there who have had the fortune to ride him,and Beccy
has been generous in her sharing of him and he is dearly loved by Beccy and her family.
His breeding......He is out of a little mare Rhyl Capri who is Chinchillas (the mother of Helden Park Cat Walk)
full sister and Deny and I leased Capri years ago from Rhyl Pony Stud and covered her with Explorer
and hence Etchings was born. He was always a very dear pony from the day he was born and such a
stunner, and when we broke him in one would have thought that he had been 'here before as it was if he
had done it all before' FURZEY PICTURE SHOW was exactly the same years ago when we broke him in.
and he was by Explorer as was HELDEN PARK FRONT COVER (known as DE LA HOYA),they are such darlings as is their sire.
It is very pleasing to me personally to see him still being shown and still helping kids to ride as he is just
that kind of pony, likes being out there doing it.
FOR ANYBODY LOOKING FOR ANOTHER SHOW PONY STUNNER.....I HAVE A LOVELY GELDING OUT OF HELDEN PARK CAT WALK FOR SALE...............
BATHURST ROYAL 5-7.3.2010
CHAMPION NOVICE SHOW HUNTER GALLOWAY........Helden Park Alluring...........T. Oates.
"Alli" incidently is out of 'Bubbles' a beautiful mare that my son, Aaron, had a lot of fun at shows with when he was riding (before Soccer took over) and won many ribbons on her including Champion and Reserve Champion Rider at both Castle Hill Shows many years ago...and of course" Alli" is by Explorer, who is 23 years old this year but still "chasing the girls".
I HAVE SOLD SOME OF MY GELDINGS ALREADY AND THEY HAVE GONE TO WONDERFUL PEOPLE AND OF COURSE WONDERFUL SHOW HOMES WHICH IS VERY PLEASING TO ME AS I HAVE FOALED OUT ALL THESE BABIES AND LOOKED AFTER THEM FROM BIRTH,AND I SINCERELY WISH THEM WELL AND THANK YOU ALL WHO HAVE SUPPORTED ME,................. I ALSO STILL HAVE SOME FOR SALE (PONIES & GALLOWAYS)AND I LOOK FORWARD WITH ANTICIPATION AS TO WHEN THESE BOYS ARE SHOWN AND 'GOOD LUCK TO ALL'........................

It is great to see Vanessa Roach showing Da Vince who won......
1st Open hack 16-16.2hh..........................V.Roach
Champion Large Hack.........Da Vinci..........V. Roach.
We bought him when he was a 2 years old and he was an absolute stunner and a beautiful quiet boy.If we hadn't bought him to race I would have shown him as he was a boy to whom you certainly gave a second glance. He is beautifully bred by Danehill Dancer (who is champion sire in the world at the moment of thoroughbreds)both northern and southern hemisphere, out of the family of C You On The Other Side-related to Chickens who John Singleton raced as a youngster and showed a lot of promise until she retired injured, and I called him Dynamic Impact for racing because I thought that he would really make an impact when racing.
He had a few starts but we weren't happy with his trainer and decided to retire him as we had a few other horses racing at the time such as a Dehere colt I called Helden Park after our stud, who won quite a few good races, and it was then we sold him to Vanessa, who unfortunately hasn't had a lot of spare time to show him until now.....so it's wonderful to see him out there 'strutting his stuff' and I wish Vanessa all the best with him in his show career as I feel that he will be very successful being such a lovely horse.
ADELONG ANNUAL AG. SHOW.......14.3.2010
Champion Pony Hack.........Helden Park Nursery Rhyme..........Tori Wall
Reserve Champion Pony Breed....
Helden Park Nursery Rhyme...........Tori Wall
This pony when born was a real little cutie-hence the name Nursery Rhyme, whom I might add my son,Aaron named as he was very taken with her when she was a baby and he asked if he could name her and when he told me the name I thought ,he couldn't have given her a better name as it really suited her.
We had a call from a lady in Qld wanting a pony to lead in led classes as she couldn't ride so we sold her little Nursery Rhyme-sight unseen I might add and when she arrived she rang us and was very emotional on the phone and 'fell in love with her at first sight'...and that is how her career started. I remember some time ago that Helden Park Etchings and her were competing for Champion Large Pony at Brisbane Royal one year and Champion went to Etchings who was older at the time and possibly more educated as that was Nursery Rhyme's first Royal,,but in any case that was a very exciting time.
It is wonderful that she is still being shown and winning for the owners and I wish them all the best because even though I sell my horses I like to follow their show career and from then onwards............
Helden Park Penny Royal around the same age is still winning and doing well at Royal level.
......more show results......

GRANDE NATIONALS:::::::::::2010
Although the Helden Park bred horses were not directly represented at this years Grande National as in previous years, 2 of Explorers progeny made the top 10,these being :
Headley Park Bart........ridden by Tyler Harris and owned by Jazna Kent....Qld.....Top 10 Show Hunter Galloway..
Lowlynn Interlude.........ridden and owned by Ashleigh Munro...Qld...Top 10 Show Hunter Galloway...
Interlude was a brown/black galloway that we broke in as a 2 year old and she had lovely movement back then and a lovely quiet filly as all Pips progeny are, just like him,we then sold her to Queensland............
..............HELDEN PARK ROYAL ASCOT.........will be coming out under saddle very shortly.

IT IS GREAT FOR EXPLORER ('PIP') TO STILL HAVE HIS BABIES WINNING OUT THERE AS HE SPENDS HIS TIME THESE DAYS ONLY SERVING A FEW OF HIS MARES AS I LIMIT HIS NO. AND THE REST OF THE TIME "chatting up the rest of his harem".
......BUT IN ALL THESE YEARS HIS BEAUTIFUL TEMPERAMENT HASN'T CHANGED AND HE IS STILL THE EPITOMY OF A GENTLEMAN................( 23 years old).....I FEEL THAT HIS DAUGHTERS WILL MAKE WONDERFUL BROOD MARES AND THOSE LUCKY ENOUGH TO HAVE ONE I WISH THEM LUCK WITH THEIR BREEDING................
HELDEN PARK PETITE.........
THIS BEAUTIFUL LITTLE MARE WAS A BROAD SASH WINNER IN HER CAREER AND MOST PEOPLE THAT SHOWED IN VICTORIA WOULD HAVE NOTICED HER.....Rachael Addison from Vic. flew up from Mel.and went through our horses and asked if she could buy Petite when she was only a weanling(and we had never sold a weanling before) but she convinced us that she would show her and give her not only a good home but a good show home so we sold her the filly(who was like a little replica of Fleur, her mother when she was a baby )hence the reason I had called her Petite..and I must say that Rachael did an amazing job of educating her and showing her..Petite has been retired to stud and Lisa from Pemberley Stud is now breeding from her and she is producing lovely foals. Her dam being Baden Lodge Petite Fleur who is herself by Explorer ,and her sire being Courtland Boy Blue who was a truly lovely little boy and my first contact in the show world with this stallion was when he beat Helden Park Cat Walk for Supreme at the NSW Riding Pony Annual Show at Sydney Show Ground (old one) many years ago when Cat Walk was only a yearling.. Cat Walk was at her first show ever when she was a yearling and she had won her yearling class, then won Champion under 4 years and then competed against Courtland Boy Blue for Supreme(Mrs. Lesley Walkingshaw was the judge) and she said later that they were two of the most beautiful ponies that she had ever judged and them both being young at the time, and her judgement proved to be correct as both their careers were testimont to her remarks.......and Lesley did own a stunning Riding pony mare herself called Spring Holly of Astral who she had purchased as a young one so she was well and truly qualified to judge a good pony.........
HELDEN PARK PETITE. (DeeDee) .....Her dam Baden Lodge Petite Fleur can be viewed on my stallion page and over the years she has produced some beautiful babies and I have a gelding out of her by Braefoot Park Rosewood (one of my resident stallions) which is for SALE... and is a galloway.Unbroken now but can be further educated for saddle if needed.
BOTH THESE FOALS ARE BY DAINHILL ROYAL BOW AND THIS STALLION IS FOR SALE.......for enquiries please contact Lisa at Pemberly Stud.............
HER FILLY FOAL......
PEMBERLY MODEL

HER COLT FOAL.....PEMBERLY WHISPER

I have already had some lovely emails from people breeding from Explorers daughters and are very pleased with their 'babies'.
HELDEN PARK MISS ELITE............She is out of Opal by Explorer.......

This filly foal is out of Helden Park Miss Elite by Sarnau Victory (Imp)and bred by Kaye Thomson.Elite was by Explorer and out of a galloway mare that was never shown that I called Helden Park Opal who was also the mother of Helden Park Man About Town and Helden Park Millionaire.I lost Opal when Millionaire was only 2 weeks old and reared him myself and he was a beautiful type who won Champion Newcomer at the EFA Horse of the Year when he was first being shown with Anthony Hurley in the saddle and later after he had been sold to someone in SA he won Champion Novice Hack at Adelaide Royal some years back and the lady who owned him rang me and told me that they all loved him in the family and would never sell him.Unfortunately for me Elite was the only filly Opal had and I was unable to buy her back from the people we sold her to.At Elite's first big show Horse of The Year she narrowly missed getting Champion Galloway and came in Reserve to Springfield Sonata who won many Championships herself around the Royals as well as Horse of The Year events and who also was sired by Explorer.

Helden Park Man About Town Helden Park Millionaire ridden by Anthony Hurley when he
won EFA Newcomer Galloway Champion a few years ago.
Both these boys are full brothers to Helden Park Miss Elite x Explorer

HELDEN PARK MISS ELITE & HER FILLY BY SARNAU VICTORY (IMP) growing up..............
HELDEN PARK ELEGANCE who is owned by Amanda Davies and family is a lovely galloway mare who is out of Baden Lodge Petite Fleur by Explorer and was shown with great success and the family has retained her and are breeding from her and she has produced Talgum Park Fine Sylk who won her Novice Galloway at her first show and the following next weekend at her second show won Newcomer Galloway. She is by Gwaihir Aubusson and is an Arabian Riding Pony.

CATCHING UP WITH HORSES THAT WE BRED AND WHAT THEY ARE DOING NOW.............
ALSO.....stories which maybe of interest.

Helden Park Puss n Boots who is out of Whitehaven Movie Star by Explorer. He is a beautiful pony, and has done all his
owners proud, and I believe he is now for sale as the owner has outgrown him.
HELDEN PARK POP STAR............

Helden Park Pop Star by Explorer out of Kilven Grove Shireen being shown and owned by Lisa & Mackenzie Boundy
Lisa Boundy showing Helden Park Pop Star in hand...........

Mackenzie Boundy riding Helden Park Pop Star............

Mackenzie just fooling around on Helden Park Pop Star....which is testimont to Explorers temperament.

HELDEN PARK MISS LIBERTY: Owned by the Button Family Partnership. This galloway mare is by Explorer out of a lovely little thoroughbred mare that I called Chelsea(stud book reg. name Wyee Lass)as she was liver chestnut and the quietest mare (too quiet for racing hence the reason I was abe to buy her)that we bred a few years ago..This picture was sent to me by the current owners. I am so pleased that she has such a lovely home as she is very sweet and when born was just like a little statue that is why I called her Liberty after the statue of Liberty......
.......Some more history of horses that we have bred.......
We have only sold two of our progeny over seas...one was the pony shown below and the other one was a pony(little mare under saddle)that went to a Prince in Malaysia for his then 4 year old, which everyone there thought was adorable, through an agent......... we have been asked if we would sell our ponies to America, but decided against it as we have enough loyal clients who buy our horses in Australia...

HELDEN PARK MASTERPIECE.......
A pony we sold that went to NZ to the Duncan family a few years ago and won Champion Small Pony at the Horse of the Year, not long after he had arrived there, and not long after that went to the New Zealand Royal which was held on the South Island that year, and won Champion Small Pony of New Zealand.A few years later when the girls had outgrown him he was sold on and I lost contact with the new owners so if anybody out there knows who owns him now I would love to know. He was out of Whitehaven Movie Star by Explorer and a full brother to Helden Park China Doll who won numerous events and was shown at the same time that we showed Helden Park Cat Walk and quite often was second to Cat Walk. When the Duncan family bought him he had not long been educated under saddle but being such a quiet pony was a dream to ride, and was also in a top show home where he was ridden and presented immaculately,as the picture shows......

This was for an advertisement that we were asked to do and went overseas to countries including Japan for tourism promotion for Australia.
The horses are.........Calwalla Cressida .....ridden by young Lori Rostron and.......
Furzey Blue Movie...ridden by Simone Edwards.................
Ridden on one of Newcastle Beaches that was actually closed to the public and we had to float the horses there.
Lori won a lot of events in shows on Cressida and I remember the first show that she ever went to was Gosford Ag. Show and Lori rode her in her riding class and the saddle slipped right up and over the whither during her class and the pony put her head up as she was cantering so Lori wouldn't come off and she dismounted in the middle of the class, fixed the saddle and finished her event and rode back to the judge and we were sitting in the grandstand and the whole stand erupted as people clapped (but what they didn't know was that that was the ponys first show and first event and it was the biggest show there that I have ever seen.We brought her back from Vic from Calwalla Stud really as a companion for Calwalla Cover Girl who was still on her mother when we went down to pick her up when we bought her so she wouldn't fret we took Cressida on the float with us, and we told June Lester that we would take her home ,break her in and sell her on and with no cost to her and send her all the money as she was just "sitting in a paddock doing nothing".Deny broke her in himself and turned her out to "think about it",she hadn't taken much riding and broke in with only a few rides. Rostrons rang us up and asked us if we had a good pony that they could buy for Lori as she wanted to go back into showing (both her and her sister were good riders).
Deny told them,(as they only lived down the road) that by the time they could drive up we would have the pony in the yard and he would get on her and ride her and if she was the same as she was before we had turned her out then she would be okay for Lori. History.....she was and they bought her and we forwarded the money onto June Lester.....and most people that have shown for a few years ...know just what a good pony Cressida was for years............
Simone Edwards was a very good rider as well and won many events including at Royal level and Furzey Blue Movie...well .....we sent him up to Tamworth for a girl rider and actually got him back after he had started to be broken in and when he came home Deny rode him and said that he was quiet and we all got on him and rode him and he was wonderful for a young horse that had just been broken in. We showed him at the Royals. His first royal was Canberra and Cathy Cooke rode him and he got second to our other galloway Calwalla Cover Girl who won the Novice Galloway and also the Open Galloway with Bree Roberts riding her,and Gina Montgomery rode him for us that year at Sydney and won the Novice Galloway and the Open Galloway on him and maybe would have got Champion Galloway but before the event while warming him up he slipped in the exercise yard and pinched a nerve in his back.He was allowed to compete but couldn't move like he had done in the other 2 classes and was beaten. He kept winning at numerous shows and we got a call from a lady in Vic. who had one arm and wanted a quiet galloway to ride and we had been recommended to her.We sold her Movie sight unseen and I will never forget this but when I led him up the tailgate and put him on the transporter we were all very emotional because we all felt that we were losing a member of the family. The truck driver told me "not to worry he would give him a good trip" but he just didn't know what we were feeling and if my son Aaron had been older we would never have sold him. When the lady rang me up after he had arrived(it was about midnight)she was crying and said"he was the most beautiful thing that she had ever seen" and thanked me from the bottom of her heart. She won a lot of led classes with him and won the RDA event that qualified her to represent Australia in England but couldn't raise the funds to take Movie so went over and competed on one of their horses in England which as you know would have been very difficult to be competitive.
....CHILLED SEMEN WILL BE AVAILABLE THIS COMING SEASON....
FROM
BRAEFOOT PARK ROSEWOOD
&
GRANDEUR APPLAUSE
.........which will be advertised in the next Riding Pony Journal..........
